When I try to put an accent mark long-pressing a letter in my keyboard, it suddenly block itself not alowing me to continue typing in the application I'm using. For example if I want to put an à I just press the letter a for like a couple of seconds but instead my keyboard block and do not let me type any other letter or number. I'm using Big Sur 11.2 on a MacBook Air.

open Terminal app and type
defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true
and then restart.

Does this happen in all apps including Safari, Mail, Notes, Message, Pages, etc?

Is this something which has changed recently? Do you have any antivirus apps installed? Anything turned on in Accessibility preferences related to Keyboard?

Do you mean after you type the number associated with the desired character?

It changed when I download the Big Sur update. It was like a couple weeks ago.
