beats flex and apple watch problem

The sound on my new Beats Flex goes out when my apple watch shows a notification. My apple music library is on my iphone 11 and I keep my apple watch on "now playing" to control my music . I also use the apple watch's exercise app simultaneously while running and listening to music which on other bluetooth earphones and with apple airpods worked without problem. There would be a momentary interruption of the music during a notification then the music would start back up on its own.

With the Beats Flex, every time my watch chimes a notification on the exercise app, the sound goes out and will not come back on unless I drag out my phone and hit the play button. Its like the play button on the earphones gets disconnected even though the music app show that the beats flex are connected It is very annoying because I get multiple notification while running and I hate having to fool around so much getting the sound back.

Please help if you can.

Thank you!

Hello jinghem,

It sounds like music stops playing when you receive a notification on your Apple Watch when using your Beats Flex, and won't resume playing unless you press the Play button on your iPhone. We want to make sure you're able to enjoy listening to music, and we want to help.

To help us get a better understanding of the issue, we’d like to ask a few questions.

  1. Which software versions are your Apple Watch and paired iPhone running? Here's how to find the iOS version on your iPhone: Find the software version on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod
  2. Does this only happen when you use your Beats Flex, or does it happen when using other headphones as well? Connect Apple Watch to Bluetooth headphones or speakers
  3. Are you using these steps to play and contol music on your Apple Watch? Use Now Playing on Apple Watch

Thanks!

jinghem,

Thanks so much for letting us know.

Since the issue is only happening when using your Beats Flex, we'd like to see if resetting the Beats helps. More about that here: Reset your Beats earphones

If reseting doesn't help, please ensure the firmware is updated using the steps outlined here: Update the firmware of your Beats product

We hope that helps. Take care!

Thanks for responding.

1.

Iphone 11 pro: ios 14.4

apple watch 3: os 7.3

2.

I always use Now Playing for music, podcasts and audiobooks. It is one of the main reasons I wear an apple watch.

3.

The problem only happens with the Beats Flex. I also use airpods and other bluetooth earphones without this problem.

Thank you!
