How do i remove an old apple id from my MacBook Air System Preferences?

I have an old iCloud account that is showing in my MacBook Air System Preferences and I would like to delete it and now add my new one. Does anyone know how to do this easily? I have already deleted my old iCloud account and do not have access any longer...any guidance would be greatly appreciated...Thanks in advance

Hello iza718,

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities! We understand you are looking to remove an old Apple ID and iCloud account from your Mac so you can use a new one. We are happy to help provide some guidance.

To remove that Apple ID from your Mac, you would want to sign out of that Apple ID that is logged in so you can use your new one. If you go to the Apple menu () > System Preferences and click on "Apple ID" then the "Overview" tab, and click on "Sign Out" at the bottom of the window, it will log you out.

Sign out of iCloud on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple TV, or Mac

Let us know how it goes or if you have any questions. We hope this information helps.

Best Regards.
