MacOS Update Error Cannot get out of install loop

I’m trying to update and keep having to reboot after an error that says “An error occurred preparing the software update.” I can’t get out of this install loop. I tried Mac OS Boot Recovery which wouldn’t accept my password for my computer (no freaking idea why), and when I logged in using my iCloud it said “The supplied iCloud account cannot unlock this volume.”

You can try booting into Recovery Mode. Select the "Restore from Time Machine Backup" even if you don't use Time Machine. Look for a "local" backup. A local backup is one the installer made when the installer began to upgrade your Mac. Select the "local" backup which should be dated at the time you began the upgrade process. This should in theory restore you system to how it was before you attempted to upgrade macOS.
