I want to purchase AppleCare for AirPods

I purchased my Airpods Pro from Best Buy in Miami, but did not take the apple care at that time. I want to purchase the care now. But it says the serial no of this device is not covered. I had purchased them on 02/02/2021 the serial no SH***C6l. Is the purchase from Best buy not covered?
