I don't have a option of software updates in system preferences . and also I have MacOS 13.6 . on App Store when I update my WhatsApp or any other app the said you don't have the version 10.14 or later , u can't update .

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and if your MacBook Pro is a 2012 or newer model, download Mojave, Catalina, or Big Sur. If not, it can't run those applicaton versions.
