Visit Adobe's Acrobat Reader DC download site, and install the current version. This will install version: 2021.001.20135. I suggest this approach, as my version of Reader installed on 11.2.1 refused to check for updates.
If the Adobe nagging ends when you sign-in, then you know it was the application reminding you that you were likely using an outdated version of the product.

Thank you! Used "Combo Cleaner" to check for malware and then clicked on the "Adobe Acrobat updater" installed, and it appeared to just disappear. That made me nervous, so I used app "Cleaner One" to scan and it found no viruses.
Collectively, we recommend only the free trial of Malwarebytes to discover and remove malware as that is what is was written to do. Using so-called "cleaner" applications on the Mac is not recommended, and potentially dangerous, as they have a tendency to hypnotize a user into removing valid application and system components that then cause more mayhem.
There is a chance that this is malware, not really from Adobe. Please get the free version of Malwarebytes for Mac to check your Mac for malware: https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac/.

Jack

Hi Jack,
I followed the instructions, however there were no Login Items listed.

Thank you, I was not aware of the limitations of cleaner apps. I will get the app you suggest.
Downloaded and ran Malwarebytes. It ran in a fraction of the time the cleaners apps took. Updater gone and no malware found. Thanks to all for your help.
Please make sure all "Cleaner" apps are deleted, except for Malwarebytes.
I will, thanks again. That updater was a painful popup!
