I’m trying to assist my Mother with getting back into her IPad. However, I can’t remember the old Apple ID and password when I set the iPad up it’s a older model. I tried using her Apple ID and password on her current IPhone but it is not working.

Is there a way to hard reset the iPad so I can put her updated information in. The iPad was purchased in store it’s not a stolen item.

Hi Chaz,

Since you/she is the owner of the account, your best solution is to recover the information:

If you are the original owner and have forgotten the log-in information, try to recover it:

• "If you forgot your Apple ID" [this is likely an email address you are using or used in the past] click here --> https://support.apple.com/HT201354

• "If you forgot your Apple ID password" click here --> https://support.apple.com/HT201487

Otherwise:

- Apple can remove an activation lock if a person can provide sufficient evidence of valid ownership. Do this online here --> https://al-support.apple.com/#/additional-support Apple says, "Proof of ownership documentation is required," but does not state what constitutes proof. (If you get to a deeper level than I did with casual investigation then please let me know what it requires!) You may be able to do this at an Apple Store.

This is a brand new service and may be a bit buggy according to the one person I have seen post about trying to use it.
