App Store not opening

When I select the app store, it does not open. It returns the message "The Apple Store app has been updated. Download the new version on the App Store". Under this message is a button "link" that says Update. When this is selected, Safari throw the error "Safari cannot open the page because the address is invalid. How can I update the App Store without being able to open the app store and the link not being valid to do so either? This happened with I purchased a new phone iphone last month with IOS 14.4

So I have not been able to update of download any apps on my new phone and have not been provided any solutions to resolve this. The lack of resolution on this has really made be regret my purchase.

Hi dbuser1,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We understand that you're having an issue with your App Store opening on your iPhone. We'd like to help you get to the bottom of this.

When you try to open the App Store, are you able to click on your profile avatar before you get that error message? If so, are you able to get to the Apple Store update there? If that doesn't allow you to complete that, these steps can help get the App Store working for you again:

If an app on your iPhone or iPad stops responding, closes unexpectedly, or won’t open

Let us know how that goes.

Take care!
