How to fix an apple watch that won’t charge. Apple icon will appear and disappear. I haven’t charged my watch in several months.

I have not used my apple watch in a long time and when I charged it today,the apple logo blinks and it doesn’t seem to charge. How do i fix this? I tried to hard reset but this did not work.
