Is there an issue with my iPhone 12 pro max if there is not setting under General for profiles & device management?
I need to reinstall a profile but that setting is missing.
iPhone 12 Pro Max, iOS 14
there is supposed to be a setting under General for profiles and device management. Not there on my 12 pro max
It’s there only when you have at least one active profile. If it’s not there, that means device has no active profiles.
Then how do you add a profile?

I would strongly recommend not installing a corporate management profile on a personal device if there is any way you can avoid it.

I had it on the phone, for years, and it just vanished.
You can have a profile and not have an MDM.
That's correct, but if you install a profile from a 3rd party, you have no way of knowing or controlling whether they are using an MDM to manage your device.
