Use the Safari>Preferences... Menu Bar option. You can also use the (command+,) keyboard shortcut.

According to Qwant, it is not possible to add that feature to the Safari "Search engine:" field but you can add Quant as a "Homepage."

"Click on the “Safari” tab, and then on “Preferences.”

In the top menu, click on the “General” button (it looks like a power switch!).

In the “Homepage field”, enter the URL “https://www.qwant.com/” and close the window.

Qwant will open by default the next time you launch Safari."

Thank you for responding, Ferd II!

I am trying to change my search engine (browser) and it appears that only about five are named

in the search engine dropdown box pictured below..

There is a Qwant.com and a startpage.com that I am interested in making my default

but they are not listed in the drop-down box.

Do you know how I might establish a new search engine that is not listed in the preferences

section of Safari?

Thank you!
