Prevent Accidental Changes to a Note in progress?

I am sure that there’s a way to prevent accidentally deleting/adding and altering the content of a Note being written in such a way that recovering the unchanged version immediately prior to whatever action altered it easy as it gets.

I’ve learned via initial research that Gestures can alter the body of text in any texting iPhone app (current iOS version is 14.4 on iPhone 11.). What other activity can inadvertently alter text content besides Gestures?

Is it possible to “lock” a Note in progress from indirect changes to the CURRENT content? Or is the best way to copy entire note, and create a copy with it, and overwrite the copy every 2 minutes or so?

Please advise!

Thank you,

Renee

Hi Appdicted,

You can review the accessibility settings on your iPhone to see if there's a specific settings that you'd like to turn off. For example, there's a feature called, "Shake to Undo" which allows you to undo any content that you wrote. Here's an article with an overview of the accessibility features that's available on your iPhone: Get started with accessibility features on iPhone

The ability to lock a notes, while it's in progress is unavailable. A note has to be completed, then you can lock the note with a password. Here's an article with additional details: How to lock notes on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch

In the future, if there's a note that has been deleted, you have the option to restore your note in the Recently Deleted folder: If you're missing notes on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Best regards.
