As long as you like. I’ve had the same AppleID now for over 2 decades (I first made an AppleID in 2000 with OS X beta, as a login ID for the free developers accounts offered then). I have had to change the primary email address for that AppleID a couple of times - the email I use as the login ID. But an AppleID never expires, so as long as you keep your information current with your AppleID it will continue to be your Apple services login ID.

I’ve had the same AppleID over the whole course of the dot-Mac era, the MobileMe period, the intro of the iPhone and the App Store, the roll out of iTunes, the Book Store, the MacOS store. It’s Apple’s form of universal login ID to all their offered services, so I don’t see it ever going away, although it has changed over time as things evolve and services change.

Just remember you can always login to your AppleID at https://appleid.apple.com/ and edit your information (primary email, secondary email, address, contact phone numbers, etc, etc) to keep it current.
