From what I've read and know, this could be trouble avoided.

There's nothing to be gained by a 'zero-sum' game of chance.

You could try Malwarebytes for Mac (anti-malware/adware) for free.

Details are in following page; you can pause the download & read.

• Malwarebytes for Mac (download link) | malwarebytes

https://www.malwarebytes.com/mac-download/

If those numbers make sense to you, even then consider again.

These are examples of what appears to be the same kinds of bait.

Here's some examples by other name, of your situation; offers 'fix'.

[Malwarebytes for Mac is better; best: it runs14-days free trial.]

Safari. Opera. If they appear, they will ask for control permissions over

your browser. Here is the message which appears: "Mac Performance

Wants Access to Control {web browser name}" The messages ask for the

victim to give an app, called 'Mac Performance', which may have nothing to

do with the Mac's performance, control over the web browser.

Another similar item similar to your symptom adware/malware, etc:

Looks like some kinds of false bait, to lure you in to an unknown;

that simply more than likely, be unnecessary and/or dangerous.

Consider writings such as this, that can help you control privacy

and security; via settings in your Browser, and keep Mac safe..

(Avoid click on links too, where 'offers for unknown items' may

be downloaded that aren't good. I see some ads in above site.

Something 'about VPN', inside something innocent, can be bad.)

There are other useful sites; whether you need them. Be careful

Another community user had similar yet differently worded item;

and considered this thread, and then tried a different path later:

Q: "..12476486739033557300 asking for access to safari.." - ASC

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/252457362

These were offered as matters to avoid the problems they can bring.

Links above cite similar evidence of their ilk: The cure is to not click.

Preventative measures are best. These items arrive via the Browser.

Manual methods described in the above are examples to try.

This could be generically called 'malware' of a sort.

Troubleshoot the matter and when manual methods fail, try

safer means to be rid of cause of symptoms. Don't go too far.

I've used manual methods when the actual problem is known;

and also used software that is known safe and runs free, too.

Malwarebytes for Mac is adequate; if used at proper time.

Good luck & happy trails!

This just started on my MacBook Pro after an automatic update. Other than that, I haven't downloaded anything. I don't know what is it or where it came from. Even though I choose "Don't allow," it continues to pop back up every 30 seconds. Seriously, every 30 seconds. I timed it.

I don't understand why I would need to download something to stop this. I really would like to know WHAT it is.
