MacBook Pro, M. Touch Id doesn't work when connected to power cord

Touch Id doesn't work when the MacBook is powered with a cable to the grid. When I disconnect from power it works fine. This cannot be SOP so is there a fix for this?

It sounds like you are experiencing some issues with Touch ID on your Mac. We can get you pointed in the right direction for support.


Have you ever been able to use Touch ID on your Mac while it was connected to power? If so, and this issue is more recent, we'd recommend resetting the SMC to see if that helps: How to reset the SMC of your Mac
