Extend display from 27" iMac 2009 to 27" iMac 2009

I have a 27" iMac 3.6 2009 and am getting a 27" iMac 2.8 2009 both running High Sierra.

I would like to extend to a 2nd display to use with Zoom Conferencing and view mutiple connections over the two screens.

Do I need a mini-displayport cable between the two or ethernet cable?

How would I accomplish extending to the 2nd iMac?

TIA

They are both Macs so why wouldn't it? To be honest though TDM is very old discontinued technology that Apple dropped support on over 6 years ago. If you have trouble I would just get an external monitor and connect that. Had you not already bought the old computer then I woudl have told you that up-front. TDM is finicky and Apple never designed iMacs to be external displays for other devices. Using an external monitor has been around close to 20 years and is simple, easy to setup and dead reliable.
