Apple Icloud scam call

I received a call on my iPhone, the caller ID said Apple Inc. I answered and the robo voice said my icloud account has been breached, and to press 1 and remain on the line. I pressed 1 and a person came on. He said he said he was from Apple support. I just listened, I thought it may be a scam, as Apple never calls.

The person knew my name and said my account was breached. I was quiet, and he eventually hung up.

After her hung up, I looked at the caller ID and it identified the caller as Apple Inc. I redialed the number and it called Apple Support --> 1 877-412-***3. I looked up the number on the net and one webpage said it's a scam number. How can the scammers know my name and number. I never use this number. And they use Apple's support number to show that it came from Apple Inc?

Apple does not make such calls.

All such calls are scams from criminals attempting to steal your personal and financial information. The callers will often use number spoofing to pretend they are calling from a legitimate business. The correct course of action is to ignore the calls or hang up on them, repeatedly if needed.
