Cursor disappears on MacBook Air

Cursor disappears several times per day. it is still there but invisible and not usable. If I close and reopen the Mac Book the problem resolves but it happens again a few minutes later.

MacBook Air 13″, macOS 10.14

Two possibilities come to mind: (1) some software typically apps like word processing will hide the mouse pointer when you are typing at the keyboard (I’m assuming you mean the mouse pointer rather than a cursor at the point you are typing). It is supposed to reappear when the mouse or trackpad is used, but you might have found a bug if it relates only to one specific app. (Check for updates, etc)

(2) Your post suggests MacOS 10.14 which probably means you should consider upgrading MacOS (it’s free providing your MBA is a 2013 model or later). The update and software refresh should clear most OS bugs or inconsistent settings which could cause the problem.
