iPhone 12 Pro Max overheating

Hi! I have noticed my iPhone has been warmer than normal while charging. I was using the cord I got with my iPhone X to charge and it melted the portion of the charger that plugs into the phone, and it legit had smoke coming from it. Has anyone else experience this?

From your photo is appears your cable was damaged to begin with. If you use a damaged charging cable, you'll get the result you describe. Since it's likely you used a damaged cable, you should immediately stop using the phone and schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar to have the phone checked out to make sure it wasn't damaged.

OK.....You still need to schedule an appointment at your Apple Store Genius Bar for evaluation and options. We can't diagnose your phone here.

Something is clearly wrong here. Your phone should NEVER smoke. It needs to see the Apple doctor. SERIOUSLY.

I have asked the Forum Hosts to have someone reach out to you to have your phone checked.
