Mac App Store not working as expected

i just got a second hand MacBook Pro 2011, OS X Lion 10.7.5.


The App Store opens but all the apps in the window have a question mark icon.

i can do anything with it :(.

I signed in with my iCloud but nothing changed. Tried some solutions but nothing. Maybe I’m missing out something with the setup?


Can someone please assist me?

Try a different wifi network; office, library, coffeeshop.


Update the Mac to the newest version of macOS available with that model Mac.

Thanks for making time to assist.

well I tried to use different Wifi networks and even Ethernet connection but nothing helped.


As for the software it’s update but when it comes to the operating system, I tried to download and install old version of macOS- MacOS Sierra 10.12 reads-can upgrade El capital, Yosemite, Mavericks, Mountain Lion, or Lion

After download I try to open installer and it’s reads-not recognized☹️.


What is the best way to install the latest operating system to Lion X 10.7.5?


And is it possible to reinstall OS from recovery with my new iCloud account for I don’t have the original that was installed with this OS?
