Gmail not working since Big Sur update. How can I fix this?

Thank you. I have gone through these suggestions and still it is not working. It is now iCloud mail and Gmail, I get a warning triangle with an exclamation mark next to each account. Sometimes quitting the mail app resets it for a short period and I can send and receive emails but within a few minutes it has lost connection again.

Both mail accounts are working fine on my iPhone and on the websites, it is just the mail app on the MacBook that is coming up with connection errors.

The accounts aren't showing up as online in the Internet Accounts list.

I have tried disabling email for both accounts, restarting the computer and then enabling email again. This does not work either.

More advice please!

My iPhone worked better but still occasionally didn’t connect. MacBook much worse. It hasn’t happened at all since latest updates though. Even iCloud email wasn’t working sometimes which seemed totally ridiculous! Hope you get it sorted soon.

None of these suggestions helped me either but the situation did resolve after a few days. Although it happens again now and then.

Mine has been fixed now, hasn't happened for a long time. Your problem sounds different if the whole account is being deleted. Hope you find a solution.
