Apple watch app missing from phone

My apple watch just disappeared from my I phone. I can see ot in the app store and it allows me to open it but not re-download. It is not in the list of apps under settings either. Any ideas?

Will force closing apps on apple watch improve performance/battery? I recently bought an Apple Watch SE and I am wondering if closing apps will improve performance or battery life. I would like to use the dock as an app launcher but don't know if I need to use the app switcher to close apps. Will not having an app switcher to close apps affect my performance and battery life? Swipe all the way to the left on your phone and you should see it in the app library.
