IWatch GPS only model setup for Wi-Fi only

Here is what I am trying to do. I have 2 new IWatch 6 GPS

only. My mom is 76 and has health problems so I got us each one so I can give

her fall detection and monitor her vitals. She is at the house and we have a Wi-Fi

connection. Can I set up hers on the Wi-Fi for use at the house and mine on my phone

only? I know Family sharing requires a Cellular version bet we do not need that.

Option 2 I have my old iPhone 6 but its not hooked up to a cell provider. Can I set her up on my old 6 and have the stand-alone Wi-Fi to her watch? Otherwise, what are my options?

You need a Cellular + GPS model.

You don't need to connect it to cellular but you need the cellular version.

In order for the watch to function it must be paired to an iPhone.

The series 6 will only connect to a iPhone 6S or newer.

I'm returning the GPS only and ordered the combo. I also ordered a 6s referb so I can track her vitals ($95).

That's what I get for not doing my homework up front. I with there was a data sheet out there that would break all this down from apple (if you want to do this, your need this and that) as it would have saved me hours of reading and a bunch of returns.
