MacbookPro 2019 w/Big Sur 11.2.1 problem connecting to BenQ PD2720U via T3. Any suggestions?

I have a Logitech MX Master 3 mouse and a Logickeyboard for photoshop/lightroom attached to a BenQ PD2720U. BenQ is attached to a MBP 2019 via T3. The only way to get this to work is to open the MBP and restart it, then immediately close it. Any thoughts?

Closed display mode works ONLY under the exact conditions stated in this article. Stray off this narrow path, and devices stop working and/or your computer shuts down:
