Neither Face ID or my password will work in i note...

I’m wondering if there is any advice as to how I can get Face ID working for i notes? Neither Face ID or my password seem to be working for my locked notes. I’m being told I have the incorrect password but I use the sane code to open my device and my device still opens with the code so I’m not getting that wrong. Any advice?
