Did anyone else have a reboot loop as soon as the warranty expired? And the "genius" bar is now saying it's a motherboard issue and will cost half the price of a new iPhone to fix... (and can't explain how this happened)

I guess that the motherboard can go bad, but it is pretty rare. Have you tried connecting to your computer? See these links:
