iPad case sizes

Would an iPad Air 2 case fit an iPad Air 3?

Is it basically equivalent or is there a big size difference between them? I'm asking this because I have an iPad Air 3 (2019), and the case I want to buy for it is only avaialble for the Air or Air 2, along with a few Pro and Mini models which will either be too big or too small. The closest I can get to Air 3 was Air or Air 2 since Air 3 wasn't an option.

No.

An iPad Air 2 has a 9.7 inch diagonal screen.

An iPad Air 3 has a 10.5 inch diagonal screen.

The 2019 iPad Air 3 a bigger iPad based on the 2017 10.5 inch diagonal screen iPad Pro.

You need to find cases that fit both the 2017, 10.5 inch screen iPad Pro and/or 2019, 10.5 inch screen iPad Air 3.

There are plenty of cases found on Amazon.

Ohhh...I see now. Yes, that makes so much more sense. And wow, I have to admit that's a big size difference between the Air 2 and Air 3. It's coincidence you mention that because the iPad Air 3 reminds me so much of the 2017 10.5 Inch iPad Pro. The screen size seems to be the same too. So basically I have to buy an iPad Pro 2017 10.5 Inch case and it would fit perfectly? :)
