Apple Music Playlist Layout/Display

I recently ran an update on my Mac, and now Apple Music has a new layout on the playlist that I can't stand. It used to be just a list of songs, but now the top half of the screen is taken up by this useless display with no way to remove it. Please tell me this isn't just the next rendition of Apple deciding they hate customizability.

It's already set to be viewed "as songs," which used to just fill the page with a list.
