Cannot change youtube playback speed on iPhone 12

Hi,

I am posting this because the first question about this was not adressed. I cannot change the playback speed in youtube in my iPhone 12.

The root cause is that YT does not work well when the display setting are set to zoomed.

In other words, if you go to “Settings-> Display & Brightness -> View -> Zoomed” the controls of the YT are not usable

youtube speed controls on iphone 12 mini I am unable to change speed to 2x on the youtube app. In portrait mode, the three dot menu isn't even clickable. In landscape mode, I can access the three dot menu and open the speed settings. The screen shows only 0.25 up to 1.25. When I try to scroll down, the whole menu zips to the right-hand side and disappears. Any recommendations on getting this to work? I saw two other threads on this - neither have a resolution. Swiping lag Whenever I swipe down to put the video in small box(in youtube)mode it seems to lag quite a bit. I have an iPhone 7 plus so it’s not like it’s the phones problem. I try reinstalling YouTube and resetting and it only works for a little bit before the lag comes back. And it also happens when i swipe down a whatsapp status. thank you

Yes and no, who would be responsible for fixing this? I don’t want to use my phone in standard view just for youtube. I also wanted to post the root cause because there was an older post from December 2020 without one.

The answer probably is You Tube developers. Can you still get to the menu for things like sub titles?
