Finder doesn't show IPTC / Exif data under "More info" for several camera types?
Hello all,
Since a long time I am geotagging and keywording my digital pictures as well as digitized slides and B&W negatives using Houdahgeo. This works perfectly fine for both tiff format as well as older Nikon NEF files. I save all metadata WITHIN the raw file, so not in a side car or xmp-file. All files are non-compressed RAW files.
All pictures are well organised in a tree structure, I therefore don't use any cataloging systems. When I am looking for a picture I simply type keywords in the search field in the finder and thus I can (usually) easily find the pictures I am looking for.
Every now and then I randomly check the meta data of a file by clicking on the "More info" / via right mouse click.
I now discovered that the keywords / IPTC / EXIF data for Fujifilm RAF files as well as for a Nikon Z50 are not shown. And worse: a search on those keywords doesn't give any results.
I tried the trick with exempting the folders from spotlight and then add those folders again, but zero result. Compare, left side the metadata from a NEF file, right side a Fuji RAF file (that does have keywords + geo-information!):
The software I work: Houdahgeo / PhotoMechanic / ApolloOne (last as a viewer only)
Files that work well with keywords and manually added geo-information: NEF (D70s upto D300s), TIFF files.
Does anyone have a clue what is causing this problem with the non-visible and searchable metadata?
Many thanks in advance,
