Display flex cable failure in MacBook Pro 2018 Retina Touchbar 13inch

Anybody else experiencing display problems similar to the infamous “Flexgate” issue in 2018 MacBook Pro models. I thought Apple had fixed this issue with longer flex cables, but apparently not. I recently had this issue in my 2018 MacBook Pro purchased in September 2019. The display only works at a specific angle when the lid is open at about 30 degrees. Otherwise, it displays vertical purple stripes. Just getting off an hour long phone call with a senior Apple advisor who refused to comment on this issue or take care of this. Even if I do not have Apple Care, no one should expect to have to spend $570 on a $1300 MacBook Pro within 1.5 years of purchase.
