My mac won't show new software updates

Hi. My macbook pro 13 inch (mid 2012) won't show any software update of a new mac os. I would like to update my mac os from High Sierra to at least Mojave or Catalina. I've tried shutting it down and on again and ticked all the box in system preferences > app store but still doesn't show up. How to update the mac os?

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 10.13

Back up your data, check your applications for compatibility, and download Mojave or Catalina through the links provided. They're full-version upgrades and won't appear in the Updates list.
