Shortcut to add "capital delta symbol" combination not working

Hi all

as you know lower-case delta symbol ∂ has a complete different meaning from the capital Δ

since the lowercase delta symbol is done Option + D also written this way ⌥D

I though the delta uppercase would have been Shift + Option + D, also ⇧⌥D

but it doesn't, and I would like to force the keyboard to do it,, just because I found myself using it quite often, and also it follows same logic as "è" and "È" Shift + Option + E

I have read the documentation on how to create a shortcut, and the fact that conflicting shortcut won't make your custom one work until you disable the previous, but that's the point,

I can't find in the preference this shortcut ⇧⌥D and it's not really worth it, as it is producing this ˘ ˘ small circumflex accent I never use

That's because they are not shortcuts. Those are keyboard mappings. They follow some basic logical arrangement, but at some point the "logical" keys have already been used for something else.

If you look at the Keyboard Viewer in Input Sources tab of Keyboard System Preferences, you can hold down the modifier keys to see what symbols are mapped to on the keyboard.

You could possibly create a Text Replacement to change something like DTA to ∆.
