I have accidentally "Trashed" all the files which were in my "Recents" folder in the side bar. How do I get them back?

I have accidentally "Trashed" all the files which were in my "Recents" folder in the side bar. How do I get them back?.

It will only allow me to put them back one at a time, and there are 2500 files in the trash.

I can put them back one file at a time, but is there a quicker way of doing it?.

I didn't know that if you delete the "Recents" it will also delete every file from your "Documents".

Iv'e tried "Time machine" but that doesn't put them back into the files they were in before I trashed them.

Anyone got any ideas Pleeeeeese.

You can use your Time Machine back to restore the entire user/macOS/machine prior to your faux pas.

Thank you for your reply, the faux pas was probably a blessing in disguise, as it has given me a chance to Clean Up some of the very old files which needed Trashing anyway.
Iv'e managed to restore some of the most important files by going thru them one at a time.
Thanks again for your prompt reply.
Chris.
