macOS 10.14.6 Mojave - can't update mac apps from the Apple Mac Store

I see last October someone had this issue and an OS update seemed to help. Even if I delete and app and try to reload it-- I can't!

I took the latest updated versions of the apps (WhatsApp for Mac was one) from my MacBook Pro running macOS 11.2.1 Big Sur and copied them to my Mac Mini running macOS 10.14.6 Mojave. The apps ran fine but the Apple Mac Store still says they need to be updated and still cannot update them.

A bit of a confused mess.

If anyone has suggestions or has found a way to fix this please let me know. Need Mojave for this Mac Mini as I have a few 32 bit apps that I still need for now.

While running App Store go to Activity Monitor app and force kill appstoreagent process.

Starting download/update again everythig works as expected, but until quit App Store,

then problem apear again.

I talked again with Apple this morning. The Sr. Advisor was unhappy with your experience and asked if you had a case # that I could pass along. He said that was NOT apple's position.

I've got the same issue and the process listed by Marek (thanks) does not work for me. Still have the spinning grey circles. Have submitted a bug to Apple.

killing at the App Store agent works for the session you are in. Since this affects 3 of my Macs, I assume this is on the apple side
