old watch is still asking for my Apple ID. How do I stop that? Gave the watch to a friend

I recently gave my old Apple Watch to a friend. When she tried to set it up with her phone it was asking for my Apple ID. I have unpaired the watch from my phone and erased all content on the watch. Is there something I'm missing?

Yes there is,follow all these steps on this page to remove the activation lock so that your friend can use the watch;
