Credit card is being declined using Apple Pay

I recently received a new Visa card because my old one expired. The card number is the same, but the expiry date and number on the back are different. I tried adding it to my Wallet, but it says it’s already there. The only option seems to be delete the card and start over, but then I will lose my transaction history. Please tell me there is another way!
