iPhone 12 Pro framerate issues

I've had my 12 Pro for about two months. Shortly after initially getting it, I noticed that the framerate when scrolling, switching apps, or various other animations in the iOS user interface often drops down to low framerates. The result is, although the phone is fast, it looks very cheap. This is not how a premium device should look - it should be ultra smooth and fluid at all times. I upgraded from an iPhone 8, which performed much smoother. I have tried resetting the phone, restoring the phone, setting it up as new, and nothing seems to fix it. It feels as though the performance is being throttled when it should not be. Are there any fixes for this? I'm close to asking for a replacement device, but I don't want to do that if this is how all the 12 Pro's are performing.
