Other than sending a signal to your watch, have you tried any other steps? Such as checking the sound settings, or look to see if mute is turned on? If not, take a look at Change the audio and notification setting on your Apple Watch for details.
After checking those settings, if you still don’t hear sound, let us know which watch series you have, and if the watch’s software is updated. Update your Apple Watch.
