In OSX Stacks Screenshots go in Images instead of Screenshots

When I take a screenshot in Catalina it's a .png and, as I have Stacks turned on for my desktop, it should go into a folder called 'Screenshots'. Any other images like. jpgs go into 'Images'.

Has anyone any idea why they're going in 'Images' and not 'Screenshots'? I'm sure it used to do it properly a few OS versions ago as I have a couple in there already.

Very much a small problem but annoying.

Hi Leanne. Unfortunately that's not the answer.

I have Stacks turned on which should automatically clean up a messy desktop by putting screenshots into a folder called 'screenshots' and other images into a folder called 'images'. I'm presuming a script looks for the word 'screenshot' in the title and .png as 'kind' to do this. However everything goes into 'images' and I'm just wondering why unless Stacks has been altered to do this.

Kind of a first world problem but I'd like to know why it does this as it never used to.

Open your Screenshot app and check under Options where you have decided to save Screenshots to.

If you have set your Screenshots to go to a folder called Images then that is what will happen.

If you have it set to save to the Desktop, then the Screenshots will save to the Desktop and then automatically

be saved under the Stack called Screenshots.
