Find my phone when battery is dead

Find my phone is reporting that it is offline. Is there a way to find out the last known location?

iPhone 6s, iOS 10

Thank you, I knew for sure that Send Last Location was turned on, but I was not using the "Find my app" on a different device as you mentioned, I was using my browser on my desktop, the iCloud Find My Phone website. There is no mention of Last Location there, just a notice that the phone is "offline."


So I tried it using the app on my iPad instead expecting exactly the same thing, but no, there it does show the last location. As of 2:19 pm yesterday, I can see exactly where it was at about the time the battery would have died.


I wonder why the brower-based version lacks that critical piece of information?


Thanks for your help, I'll always use the app instead from now on.
