I have heard that the new iPhone 12 mini has a known defect with the lock screen while swiping up to unlock. Is this true? I just wanted to know before making a purchase. Thanks!

When the iPhone 12 Mini was first released last year, some of those devices displayed the issue that you are referring to. It has been addressed long ago with an update. That issue has been resolved.
