iTunes on my 2015 MacBook Air is not recognising my iPod Classic 160gb.

I deleted some tracks from iTunes on my 2015 MacBook Air running macOS High Sierra v 10.13.6 and when I tried to update my iPod Classic 160gb, iTunes does not recognize the iPod.

I have been doing this regularly (every couple of days) over the past few weeks as I attempt to clean out unwanted tracks and there has been no problem until today. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

I swapped the cable and bingo, all good.

I suspect that I had grabbed and used a non-genuine Apple 30-pin plug from my box of bits and pieces.

It will now be used as a weight in a crab-pot :-))

BTW, HDD stats: iTunes 65Gb, Free 67Gb
