iPod Nano no longer syncs with iTunes

My iPod no longer synchs with iTunes. Have gone through all suggested steps several times ... tried uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes from both the Apple download site and Microsoft. NEITHER fixes the problem. iPod is recognized by iTunes (i.e., device is recognized by iTunes and Windows file explorer) but will not synch. Using Windows 10 and the iPod is 7th generation Nano. Current iTunes on my PC is the latest Apple download. This seems to be a recurring problem in need of a permanent solution. I don't know what else to try.

If you select the device with this icon first, then select the Music tab of the device have you set up sync selections?
