How to send a photo from my Mac to iPhone photo app

I have an iPhone 6 and I would like to know I can send a photo from my Mac Mini to Photos app in my iPhone. I have tried to send an email to myself with the photo attached, but I couldn't figure out how to put it in an Photo app album. Any help?
