When I try to stream programmes on All4 using my Mac I get an error message every time. Everything worked until about 10 days ago — I was still using the Catalina OS at that point. I’ve done all the things channel 4 suggested — emptied the caches etc. and updated to Big Sur but it’s made no difference. The service works fine on my IPad so its not an IP or wifi problem. Any suggestions? And is it just me?

Thanks for the information. Is the All4+ the only streaming service that has the issue?
Do you have any virtual private networks (VPNs) connected? If so, does the issue remain when disconnected from the VPN?
Do you recall any other changes since the issue started? For example, any third party apps or anti-virus software installed?

I’ve tried what you suggested with no luck. I used Safari and Firefox and several accounts including a newly created All4 account. All4 works on my iPad — this is a problem with the Mac.
The All 4 website says “a playback error has occurred”

Have you checked with them about the compatibility with your Mac?
I am able to watch all kinds of TV channel content using my iPad, but it does not work with my iMac. Most TV providers for instance have mobile apps for your iPhone or iPad, but not for a computerr.
Its only All4 that completely refuses to stream (BBC and YouTube are fine, itv hub has developed a glitch in Safari which turns the programme sound off after every advert break but it works ok in Firefox).
I don't have a VPN -- I don't even know what a VPN is!
I've installed nothing new on the Mac recently except for updates. The problem began in Catalina before I updated to Big Sur.
Thanks for your thoughts but nothings helped yet.
