HomePod issue with media audio and watching TikTok

why is it that every time I’m listening to music on my HomePod or HomePod mini from my iphone and open up the TikTok app to watch TikTok it replaces the HomePod’s audio to that of the TikTok’s app instead of continuing to play the music’s app audio on the HomePod and just have TikTok‘s audio play on your phone while the music is playing simultaneously on the HomePod

Because that is the way it works. The Music app can run in the background as long as you don't access anything else that has audio, but all audio is sent over AirPlay when it is active unless you run something like YouTube that forces you back to local audio.
