I just updated to macOS Big Sur but can't access Miscroft word, excel or powerpoint. It was a one time purchase when I bought my laptop. How do it get Miscroft to work so that I can use it and access my existing documents?

Microsoft does not provide free upgrades between major versions of their Office products (unless you subscribe to Microsoft 365) and older versions of Office are not compatible with macOS Catalina or Big Sur.

Ok thanks. I was hoping since it was a one time purchase I'd still be ok but office was installed about 7 years ago so I can see how the version I have wouldn't be supported. Thank you. One more question-after I buy the one time subscription will I then be able to access all my current existing documents?
Just to clarify (even though I suspect you know) re "after I buy the one time subscription" the one-time purchase is not a subscription. Either way (purchase or subscription), you will be able to open your current documents that were created in older versions.
