Text Messages arriving late

In the last week my texts have started coming in anywhere from 1-5 days after they were sent to me, The problem is worse with group texts and when the messages are coming from phones that aren't iPhones. Is this a carrier problem or is it my iPhone 12 Mini?

However, if trying to send a group text (which includes Android) it will “not deliver”. If a group tries to send me a text with Android devices included I will not receive the text. After update, text is wierd I have my iphone 12 on automatic updates, but for some reason I noticed that there was an available update that didn't happen, so I manually initiated it. It updated from 15.something to 16.something. Right after that, if I text someone, they see the sender info as my Apple username instead of my regular name as usual, so they aren't sure it's me texting them. Also, in a group text chat, I no longer get the group's texts. Do you know what's going on?

Does this issue happen only with messages from specific contacts, or does it happen with all contacts? Is the issue only with receiving messages, or does it happen when you send messages as well?
